Ok, I know I haven't posted in a while but let's be honest here, I'm pretty sure I am the only one who reads this thing anyways. I am posting today because I need HELP! How do you tidy housewives keep up on laundry? I can't do it. Well, it's not that I can't do I just plain HATE it! I feel like I am drowning in laundry. Is there anyone out there who has any tips or a good system that helps them get their laundry done and not hate every minute of it?

I hate it too and I only have one kid! What helps me though, is to have two specified days a week that I do laundry (my aunt has five kids and would collect the clothes and do laundry every night- she said it was easier for her that way). This makes it seem more manageable. Another thing that helps is to fold the clothes as you are standing there taking them out of the dryer; then go put them away right then or as soon as you can (the same aunt taught me those 2 things too). This way it doesn't pile up and you won't get too overwhelmed. Hang in there... hope this helps!

There is no magical secret to help you love, or even like laundry. I hate it too! It NEVER ends. I make myself do a load a day and at least that helps me to stay up on it. Please let me know if you ever find the magical laundry fairy because I really need her to come to my house too!

I, for one, LOVE to read your blog!
Anyway, as for Laundry...I do it all on one day because that's all I have time for. But, with as many people as you have in your family, I would split it up in 2 days. (Beginning or mid week & end, something like that.)Also, I always fold my clothes when I take them out of the dryer & I hang them & put away immediately. Letting the clothes sit there in a pile just over-whelms me & makes me turn around & walk away. Leaving the mess for another time. Which never works out. It just feels like you can never get it done. Also, you may want to consider having your girls help you as part of their responsibilties around the house. My mom trained me REALLY young to do laundry & such. Just a suggestion... Good luck!

I hate it too, the only thing I do as far as a system is have baskets labeled fr each kid. It helps sorting the clean stuff.

Laundry is probably Camille's least favorite thing as well. I don't think there's any way around it - it's just something that has to be done. Like most things I detest, just get it done as quickly as possible and don't prolong the agony. Or have your family go naked and eliminate....just had an image....you better go do the laundry.

I'm gonna go with Rhonda. I have 2 baskets. one for Brant and I and one for the kids (well I only have 2 so that works for us). I put the kids pile in their room and we sort together and they put their own clothes away. folding straight out of the dryer help tons too!

No, you are not the only one who reads. I love your blog. But I'm in the same boat as you--I am really, really, REALLY bad at getting laundry done in a timely manner. I look forward to reading all the advice. :)

p.s. I totally laughed when I read Jerel's about my lack of laundry abilities.
